On May 17, Yang posted a video that described an incident on July 10, 2015, in which she claimed she was coerced into taking explicit photos and sexually harassed by multiple photographers at a photo studio near Hapjeong Station in western Seoul.
According to the police, Choi gathered multiple men to take explicit photos of Yang, sexually harassed her during the photo shoot and later leaked her photos.
Although there were about 20 men at the scene, according to Yang, the police accused Choi of distributing them based on the angle and location of photos that circulated on pornographic websites.
The police summoned Choi twice, and finally obtained evidence and a confession from him that he took Yang’s photos.
However, Choi denied that he leaked the pictures, saying, “I took the pictures, but I lost the storage device that held the photos.”
In response, the police said, “We requested for an arrest warrant because there’s a chance that Choi might destroy evidence or flee.”
The police will also request an arrest warrant for a 42-year-old man surnamed Jeong, the then-manager of the photo studio. Jeong is accused of arranging the photo shoot.
