Harisu to release first solo work in six years

테스트

Singer Harisu, known as Korea’s first transgender celebrity, will return with an EP titled “Re:Su” on July 12, according to her agency Mystery Friends on Wednesday.

The EP will be the singer’s first solo release since her July 2012 album “The Queen.”

“This [project] touches on the rough and difficult times Harisu has endured through throughout her life. She participated in writing the music and added words of encouragement for younger generations,” said Mystery Friends.

In March of this year, Harisu returned to music by releasing a collaboration EP, the title of which translates to “4 a.m.” On the EP, she sings with artists Bliss and AG Sung Eun.

Harisu made her debut in 2001 in a cosmetics commercial and has since been a singer, actor and entertainer. The artist married singer Micky Jung in 2007, but the couple ended their 10-year marriage last June. At the time, Harisu said that the two had divorced on good terms.

Some of her most popular songs are “Temptation” (2001), “Liar” (2002) and “Reaction” (2006). She has also appeared in MBC’s “The Return of Iljimae” (2009) as well as the musical “Drag Queen” in 2013.
