Seo In-young is making her return to music

Singer Seo In-young will release new music on Aug. 2, according to sources from the music industry yesterday.

Seo was embroiled in controversy when a video of her shouting at a production staff member on the set of the JTBC reality program “Late Marriage” went viral in January 2017.

She went on a hiatus until April this year when she made a surprise appearance on the JTBC singing program, “To You Project - Searching for Sugar Man.”

On the show, she joined other former members of the disbanded girl group Jewelry, and gave an apology for her behavior.

The singer was originally preparing to release a single in June, but delayed the release date to continue working on the song. According to sources, Seo has finished recording, and is planning to finish up the final touches before Aug. 2.

Seo made her debut in the music industry in 2002 as a member of the girl group Jewelry, and gained popularity when she appeared on the MBC reality show “We Got Married” (2008) with rapper Crown J.

In 2009, she dropped out of Jewelry, and chose to pursue a solo career. Some of her biggest solo hits have been “Cinderella” and “Too Much,” featuring rapper Crown J.
