A sculpture of a fried egg and a melted slipper sits in front of the Hyundai Department Store in Daegu, one of the hottest cities in Korea, where the temperature hit 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) with humidity factored in on Thursday. According to the city government, Daegu residents filed a request to remove the sculpture because they feel like it makes fun of the sweltering weather and obstructs a pedestrian path. [YONHAP]
