Korea, Jordan agree to boost economic cooperation

Korea and Jordan agreed on Tuesday to further enhance their economic cooperation, Seoul’s finance ministry said Tuesday.

During a meeting with Jordan’s Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez, Finance Minister Kim Dong-yeon said the two nations’ economic cooperation has been expanding in many areas, including renewable energy and power plants. In particular, Jordan is one of the major importers of Korean-made used cars, and more Koreans are visiting the Arab state, Kim noted.

In response, Fayez said his country can serve as a bridgehead for Korean companies to tap deeper into the Middle East.
