Samsung Heavy wins $365 million order for two LNG carriers

Samsung Heavy Industries won a $365 million order to build two liquefied natural gas carriers for a North American company, the shipbuilder said Monday.

The ships are scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2020, according to a corporate filing.

The Korean shipbuilder had also won an order to build two LNG carriers for Copenhagen-based Celsius Tankers on Friday.

Adding up the latest orders, Samsung Heavy has inked orders for 33 ships worth a combined $3.6 billion so far this year, according to the company.
