FSS unveils list of financial companies to be audited

Seven financial companies including Mirae Asset Daewoo, NongHyup Financial Group and Hyundai Life Insurance will come under the comprehensive supervision of the country’s financial watchdog.

The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) unveiled the list of the companies on Tuesday, which will also include Korea Asset In Trust, a real estate trust company, Shinhan BNP Paribas Asset Management and KB Capital, a consumer finance firm under KB Financial Group.

The FSS will look into whether the companies abide by rules related to internal control and consumer protection.

The probe typically dispatches 4-50 inspectors to a company to investigate budgets, human resources issues and other matters for several months.
