Justin Thomas to defend CJ Cup title next month

CJ Group, host of the PGA tournament, announced that Thomas was the first non-Korean player to commit to the tournament set to run from Oct. 18 to 21.
Thomas defeated Marc Leishman in a playoff to win the inaugural CJ Cup last year at Nine Bridges on the resort island of Jeju. This year’s tournament will be at the same venue.
His victory last October was Thomas’ first of three wins in the 2017-18 season. The 2017 Player of the Year reached the top of the world ranking in May this year but has since slipped to No. 4. He has not fallen out of the top five since September 2017.
