From the barrel of a gun

Models hold up leather bags from French luxury brand Faure Le Page at its first Korean shop in the Hanwha Galleria in Gangnam District, southern Seoul, on Thursday. To maintain its exclusivity, the brand only has eight stores in the world, including the one in Gangnam. Faure Le Page has a history that dates back to 1717, when it started as a weapons manufacturer for French royalty. Leather holsters are Faure Le Page’s core business today, but its history remains in the patterns and gun-shaped pockets that decorate some of its bags. Hanwha Galleria, whose parent company, Hanwha Group, also started as an explosives manufacturer, has sole distribution rights for the brand in Korea and expects its history to appeal to local customers.
