Wanna One ready to release album

Boy band Wanna One is coming back once again with a new album, Swing Entertainment announced Wednesday.

“We have already decided on the single, and the album is set to be released on Nov. 19 or 20,” the agency told Star News, a local news outlet.

This is likely to be the group’s last album as their contract ends on Dec. 31. Wanna One was signed with YMC Entertainment for a year and a half. It then signed with Swing Entertainment, an independent entertainment company created solely for Wanna One, for six more months.

The agency however carefully added that the group might extend its contract, but no final decisions have been made yet.

The 11-member project group is comprised of final winners chosen by the viewers of Mnet’s competition show “Produce 101” season 2, which aired from April 7 to June 16 of last year.

The group released its first album “1X1=1 To Be One” in August 2017 and swept the charts with its lead track “Energetic.” Thanks to the success of its debut album, the group dropped a repackaged album “1-1=0 Nothing Without You” just three months later.
