AOA to perform in IndonesiaGirl group AOA is performing at the closing ceremony of the Indonesia 2018 Asia Para Games, confirmed FNC Entertainment on Friday.
The ceremony will take place today at 4 p.m. local time at Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex in Jakarta.
AOA is not the first K-pop group to perform at a big Indonesian sporting event. At the closing ceremony of the 2018 Jakarta Palembang Asian Games on Sept. 2, K-pop boy bands Super Junior and iKON performed along with Indonesian stars.
The 2018 Asia Para Games in Indonesia kicked off on Oct. 6 with 3,800 athletes from 43 different countries. This was the first time that South and North Korean formed joint teams to compete at the games. The two countries marched together carrying a unified Korean flag at the opening ceremony.
The seven-member AOA debuted in 2012 with the single “Angels’ Story.” Last June, however, Choa left the group and announced via Instagram that the reason was “depression and insomnia.” Last May, AOA released its fifth album “Bingle Bangle.”
