Yoo Sang-moo, Kim Yeon-ji marry

They’ve already been through sickness and health, but comedian Yoo Sang-moo and music producer Kim Yeon-ji are now ready to embark on a lifelong journey together as husband and wife.

Yoo and Kim got married on Sunday afternoon at the Conrad Seoul hotel in Yeouido, western Seoul.

“I was worried that I won’t be able to get married because of my sickness, but I’m getting married. I’m so fortunate and grateful,” said Yoo to the local press before the ceremony began.

“She’s kind, she loves me and she knows me,” said Yoo.

In April last year, Yoo was diagnosed with stage three colorectal cancer, and has been receiving treatment ever since. He hasn’t completely recovered yet, but they went ahead with the wedding on Kim’s insistence, according to Yoon.

“I had a checkup before the wedding, which fortunately came out okay,” said Yoo. “I told [my bride] that we should get married when I’m fully recovered, but she said that she will help me and that it will be better together with the both of us.”

The two revealed their relationship in November of last year, and this April they said they planned to marry. The wedding was closed off to the press and was emceed by fellow comedians Jang Dong-min and Yoo Sae-yoon.
