SK E&C wins $440 million to build a road in Hong Kong

SK Engineering & Construction said Monday that its consortium has won a $440 million order to build a six-lane road in Hong Kong.

Under the deal with Hong Kong’s Highways Department, the consortium will build the 500-meter-long (.31 miles) road in Yau Ma Tei West.

An SK E&C source said the construction work will likely commence within this year and could take about 84 months to complete.

SK E&C said it owns a 49 percent stake in the consortium, giving it $215.6 million in the order. Build King Construction, a Hong Kong construction company, controls the remainder.
