Former LG Twins pitcher to manage Seoul Journeyman

The Seoul Journeyman of the Korea Independent Baseball Association (KIBA) appointed Kim Min-ki as its new manager. Kim became the Journeyman’s third manager.

After graduating from Duksoo High School, Kim made his KBO debut with the LG Twins in 1997. Throughout his career, Kim picked up 33 wins, 39 losses, 14 saves and 32 holds in 307 game with a 5.04 ERA.

Kim has been coaching high school teams since he retired in 2010. This is the first time he has been appointed as a manager.

“I am excited to manage the team because there are a lot of pitchers with potential,” Kim said. “If they get through a well structured winter training program, there will be a surprise pitcher next season.”

The Journeyman is a strong team in KIBA, where it won the 2018 KIBA Championship. Not only that, the Journeyman successfully led pitcher Lee Hyo-jun to get drafted by the NC Dinos in 2013.
