The ceremony, which was held for the first time last year, is hosted by both countries to honor excellence in film.
Kim was awarded Best Actress for her performance in “Herstory” (2018), which depicts the struggles of women who were forced into sexual slavery by the imperial Japanese army during its colonial rule in Korea (1910-45).
This is already her third award of the year, following her Best Actress award at the 2018 Buil Film Awards and Actress of the Year award at the Marie Claire 2018 Asia Star Awards.
Ma was awarded Best Actor for his crime film “The Outlaws” (2017), which revolves around a boss from a Korean-Chinese gang and a detective who tries to stop his ruthless crimes. This is the first Best Actor award Ma received during his acting career.
