The Auxiliary Training ship Hansando (ATH-81), right, the Korean Navy’s first training ship, awaits its launch at the Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in Ulsan on Friday. The 4,500-ton, 142-meter-long (466 feet) ship can sail more than 12,000 kilometers (7,456 miles) at a speed of 18 knots and is equipped with 76-millimeter and 40-millimeter guns as well as an antimissile decoy system. After initial testing, the Navy plans to put it into operation in early 2021. [NEWS1]
