Badminton player, actor have split
Star badminton player Lee Yong-dae will part with his wife, actor Byun Soo-mi, who goes by her stage name Han Soo-hyun, after a year of marriage.News broke early Wednesday that Lee and Byun had been living apart from each other and began taking steps towards getting divorced, according to industry insiders.
Later in the afternoon, Lee confirmed the news during an interview with local newspaper Chosun Sports.
“We have filed our papers to the court,” said Lee.
“I can’t detail the reasons for out divorce, as it’s a private issue. But it’s because of our personal differences that we experienced just like any other couple, and so I ask for you to stop jumping to other conclusions.”
The two started a relationship in 2011, and got married last February. They had a daughter in April 2017.
