Jung Whi was with Son at crash
After actor Son Seung-won injured two people while driving drunk early on Wednesday morning in Cheongdam-dong, southern Seoul, actor Jung Whi confessed that he was the other passenger in the car.“I was the one who was riding in the backseat of the car at the moment of Son’s car accident,” Jung wrote in an Instagram post uploaded on Wednesday afternoon. “After we drank together that day, [Son] said that he would call a driver, so I waited inside his car. But I was baffled when he suddenly started to drive. I should’ve stopped him, but I’m very sorry that I was not able to do so.”
On Thursday, agencies LIVE corporation and Double K Film & Theatre announced that the two actors will step down from the musical “Rimbaud,” which they are currently starring in, and cancel several performances of the musical that Son was scheduled to be in. Those who have already bought tickets to the shows will receive a refund, while other actors and staff who were scheduled to work on those dates will get paid as usual.
Jung, who was to appear in the musical on Thursday evening, was replaced by another actor.
