Key’s Japanese album is a success

Singer Key from boy band SHINee has topped Japan’s Oricon charts with his first solo Japanese album “Hologram,” which was released on Wednesday.

According to music data company Oricon on Thursday, the album reached No. 1 in the Oricon daily charts on the day of its release, selling 21,420 copies.

Key’s first Japanese album includes five tracks: “Hologram,” “Why Are You Here,” “Power,” “City Girl” and “One of Those Nights.”

The singer - who gained fame as a singer, actor, entertainer and a fashion designer over the past 10 years - dropped his first solo album in Korea on Nov. 26. The singer recently celebrated his Japanese release by holding a concert series, one on Dec. 22 at World Memorial Hall in Kobe and another on Christamas at Yokohama Arena.
