Default downloaders targetedZip Cinema, the company that produced the movie “Default” (2018), announced on Friday that it would be taking legal action against illegal downloads and distribution of the film.
“The movie has been circulating on illegal download sites and social media,” the company said. “Posting, circulating, sharing and downloading the movie without permission are considered serious criminal actions. We need to take strong measures against such illegal actions for those who have worked hard to make the movie as well as those who have properly paid to watch the movie.”
The company further announced that it would gather evidence of the illegal posts online and report them to the police.
The movie, which was released on Nov. 28, deals with Korea’s International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout in 1997 and stars actors Kim Hye-soo, Cho Woo-jin, Yoo Ah-in, Huh Joon-ho and Vincent Cassel, a French actor.
