Annual queuing

People line up on Tuesday at Seoul Station to reserve train tickets for the Lunar New Year holiday. The Korea Railroad Corporation’s (Korail) annual ticket reservation for the holiday period, which will run from Feb. 1 to Feb. 7 this year, opened Tuesday and will close today. Ticket reservations for Honam, Jeolla, Gangneung, Janghang, Jungang, Taebaek, Yeongdong and Gyeongchun lines are available today from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. online at Korail’s website and mobile app KorailTalk and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at train stations. Passengers are limited to six ticket reservations at a time and 12 reservations in total. Ticket reservations for the Gyeongbu, Gyeongjeon, Donghae, Daegu, Chungbuk, Gyeongui, Gyeongwon, Gyeongbuk and Donghae Nambu lines were offered on Tuesday. Vacant seats left over from the reservation period will be sold today at 4 p.m. Reservations will be automatically canceled if they are not paid by Jan. 13. [YONHAP]
