Former Kia pitcher Hector Noesi signs with Miami

Former Kia Tigers pitcher Hector Noesi signed a minor league contract with the Miami Marlins on Friday.

As Noesi’s contract includes a spring training invite, he will compete for a starting spot in the big leagues. If Noesi makes it to the majors, he will receive $800,000.

Noesi, who left Korea due to increased tax rates, made his KBO debut with the Tigers in 2016. Throughout his three seasons in the Korean league, he picked up 46 wins and 20 losses with a 3.79 ERA.

Noesi had his best season in 2017, where he picked up 20 wins and five losses with a 3.48 ERA.

Before Noesi arrived in Korea, he made his major league debut for the New York Yankees in May 2011.

Throughout his career in the MLB, he has picked up 12 wins and 31 losses with a 5.30 ERA.
