GOT7 tops Japanese music chart

Boy band GOT7 topped Japan’s Oricon Weekly Chart with its third Japanese EP, their agency JYP Entertainment announced Wednesday.

According to the agency, the EP “I Won’t Let You Go,” which was released in Japan Jan. 30, recently hit No. 1 on the weekly chart. The success comes as no surprise, considering the fact the album had reached No. 1 on the Oricon Daily Chart right after its release.

The album also remained in the top 10 of the iTunes chart of several countries, including Thailand (No. 2), Singapore (No. 4) and India (No. 8), as of Wednesday.

The group recently finished its “Road 2 U” concert tour, which kicked off last December at the Budokan in Tokyo, and wrapped up at the World Memorial Hall in Kobe Sunday. The group will hold an event with fans from Feb. 16 to 17 in Osaka, Japan, and Tokyo.
