The actor, who enlisted in 2017, was discharged Tuesday morning. He greeted the press and his fans in front of the third Infantry Skeleton Division in Cheorwon, Gangwon.
“I missed my fans a lot, and more than anything, I wanted to act in dramas again,” he said. “I am happy to have served at the military safely, thanks a lot to everyone who treated me as family.”
Surprised by around 100 fans who had gone to meet him, Joowon said, “I’m so thankful to you all for waiting for me in the cold despite New Year.”
Regarding his upcoming activities, he said, “I will come back to the small screen with good acting.”
Joowon, who began his career as a musical actor in 2006 with the musical “Altar Boyz,” became known in KBS2’s “Bread, Love and Dreams” (2010), “Bridal Mask” (2012) and “Yong-pal” (2015).
