Kingdom’ season 2 begins filming

‘After the success of Netflix’s original series “Kingdom,” which was released on Jan. 25, production for season two is already underway.

According to Netflix on Wednesday, season 2 of the series began filming Tuesday, and actors who appeared in season 1 - including Ju Ji-hoon, Bae Doona and Ryu Seung-ryong - met together Friday to go over scripts. Actors Park Byung-eun and Kim Tae-hoon and director Park In-jae are set to join the show in the upcoming season.

“Kingdom” is a zombie thriller set in the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). The six-episode series tells the story of a crown prince (Ju) who falls victim to a conspiracy, while the country is swept up in a zombie plague after the king catches a strange disease that turns him into a zombie. Bae plays a doctor’s apprentice who helps the prince save people from catching the plague, while Ryu plays the role of a mean, ambitious politician who seeks to take power as the plague ravages the land.
