Kia teaming up with Emart to install EV chargers

Kia Motors is partnering with Emart to add electric-car charging station infrastructure throughout the country, the carmaker said Tuesday.

Emart has been installing fast electric-car chargers at its stores. While 13 of its 158 branches currently have chargers, the retailer is planning to install chargers at 48 branches this year.

Kia Motors plans to install chargers dedicated to Kia cars alongside Emart chargers through the partnership.

Drivers of Kia’s electric cars will be informed of the charger locations through navigation. Kia has the Niro electric SUV, and it will soon launch an electric version of its third-generation Soul box car next month.
