Actor donates Korean signs to sites

In celebration of the centennial anniversary of the March 1 Independence Movement and the establishment of the provisional government in Shanghai, actor Song Hye-kyo donated a signboard to the Yi Jun Peace Museum located in The Hague in Netherlands, with Prof. Seo Kyoung-duk of Sungshin University.

The two have long been donating guidebooks in Korean to numerous Korean independence historic sites around the world.

“We are planning to continue donating Korean guidebooks to these sites, and we donated a signboard in Korean to the Yi Jun Peace Museum to celebrate the centennial anniversary,” Prof. Seo said Friday. “A lot of historic sites abroad do not have signboards in Korean, or they are too worn-out and need replacements with new ones.”

The Yi Jun Peace Museum was founded in 1995 to commemorate independence activist Yi Jun (1859-1907), who fought against the Japanese colonization of Korea.
