LG makes robot waiters, to deploy them at FoodvilleLG Electronics said Thursday it plans to make robot waiters.
The company signed an initial agreement to deploy robots at CJ Foodville restaurants later this year. The robots serve food to customers and offer a futuristic experience, LG Electronics said in a statement.
CJ Foodville is a subsidiary of the CJ Group.
“If robots do repetitive and hard tasks for humans, employees will be able to offer more valuable experiences and services,” said Roh Jin-seo, head of LG’s robotics division.
LG Electronics has been developing robots to stay competitive. It introduced its serving robots and transport robots last year and has partnered with Naver to upgrade its guide robots.
