Park Yu-chun denies test results

Despite positive results from the National Forensic Service (NFS), singer Park Yu-chun didn’t take drugs, his lawyer Kwon Chang-bum said on Thursday.

“The results from the NFS cannot be denied,” said Kwon. “But my client [Park] still maintains his position that he did not take [illegal] drugs.”

The lawyer added, “We are looking into how the methamphetamine got into his body, even though we don’t have much time until the [court reviews] the arrest warrant.”

This is the first official statement from Park’s attorney since the singer’s drug tests came back positive Tuesday evening.

Following the results, the police requested an arrest warrant against Park. The court will review the file today.

Park is suspected of buying 1.5 grams of methamphetamine between February and March this year with his former fiancee Hwang Ha-na, and taking the drug on five occasions.

Park and Hwang, the granddaughter of the founder of Namyang Dairy Products, announced their engagement in April 2017, but broke up last year.
