Ryu Hyun-jin looks for 4th win against Giants today
Published: 01 May. 2019, 18:51
If Ryu does pick up another win today, this will be his first away win of the season. Throughout Ryu’s career, he has picked up six wins and six losses against the Giants with a 2.94 ERA.
Ryu has picked up three wins at home this season with a 2.25 ERA, but in two away games he has picked up a loss with a 4.91 ERA.
Ryu last pitched against the Giants on April 2, giving up two runs in seven innings and picking up his second win of the season. Interestingly, Ryu’s two runs were a home run from pitcher Madison Bumgarner. This was the first time since he joined the majors in 2013 that Ryu gave up a home run to a pitcher.
As Bumgarner will be the starter for today’s game, this could offer Ryu a spot of redemption. Looking at the two pitchers’ all-time head-to-head record, they are tied at three wins and three losses.
The Dodgers’ game will start at 10:45 a.m., Korea time.
