Diageo Korea commended for support of single parents
Diageo Korea was awarded a commendation from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the company said Monday.The award was delivered on Friday, timed because May is family month in Korea. Diageo was recognized for its support programs for single-parent families and single mothers.
Diageo’s programs include 5 billion won ($4.2 million) in financial aid given to single mothers over the past five years and vocational training programs to help them gain economic independence. The company also invested 470 million won in a hotline for single mothers.
