Spider-Man returns to screens July 2

It might have been the endgame for the Avengers, but Marvel fans need not despair, as “Spider-Man: Far From Home” is to hit local theaters on July 2, according to Marvel Studios.

The film will tell how Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland, mourns the death of his mentor, Tony Stark.

In the trailer, Peter Parker goes on a school trip to Europe with his classmates. While abroad, he is recruited by Nick Fury to battle the Elementals, four extra-dimensional humanoids who have unparalleled power over natural forces.

While battling the new villains he meets Quentin Beck, also known as Mysterio, a master of trickery and illusion.

Quentin Beck is played by Jake Gyllenhaal, while Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders will feature as Nick Fury and Maria Hill. It will be Jackson and Smulders’s first time appearing in the Spider-Man series.

Zendaya will also appear again as MJ, a friend whom Peter is romantically interested in.
