Yoon Jong-shin to focus on musicYoon Jong-shin will step down from all TV programs to focus on his music career, the singer announced via Twitter on Tuesday.
“Next year, in 2020, the ‘Monthly Yoon Jong Shin’ project welcomes its 10th anniversary, I will be welcoming my 50th birthday and the 30th birthday of my singing career,” said Yoon.
“To celebrate that, I want to start a new project called the ‘Nomad Project.’ I’ve been preparing for it for two years, and am planning on leaving this October.”
Yoon uploaded a picture of a suitcase along with his goodbye.
To focus on his singing career, Yoon will step down from all his TV appearances - namely the MBC talk show “Radio Star.”
Yoon has sat on the popular show’s M.C. panel since the show started in May 2007, and has not missed an episode since.
Yoon is also the head of his entertainment agency, Mystic Story, which is home to some of Korea’s top singers such as Jungin, the Brown Eyed Girls and Jung Jin-woon.
“I would like to try creating new content in a new environment where everything is unfamiliar and I am an outsider,” he said.
“I hope that 2020 turns out to be a big turning point in my life, both as a person and as a creator.”
