Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) announced Thursday that it completed its first flight of an initial light armed helicopter (LAH) prototype.
The test, with two flight pilots on board, was conducted at KAI’s headquarters for about 20 minutes.
The LAH is equipped with state-of-the-art avionics and 1,032 horse power engines. After starting development of the LAH in June 2015, KAI finished its basic design in 2016 and critical design in 2017. A prototype was first revealed in December 2018.
Starting from January this year, KAI conducted ground tests to confirm the main systems stability.
