The public’s rage against justice minister nominee Cho Kuk is boiling according to a recent JoongAng Ilbo survey in which 60.2 percent of respondents opposed his appointment, while only 27.2 percent supported it. That mostly resulted from the alleged privileges Cho’s daughter received from prestigious universities. Cho, former senior Blue House secretary for civil affairs, was nominated as justice minister because he was a symbolic figure representing President Moon Jae-in’s core values such as fairness and justice.
