SK Telecom and Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) have teamed up to expand the application of an artificial intelligence (AI)-based dementia prevention program co-developed by the carrier and the Seoul National University College of Medicine, the carrier said Tuesday.
The country’s largest mobile carrier has been offering voice-powered AI speakers to the elderly people living alone in partnership with eight local governments. The dementia prevention program will be added as a service offered through the speakers. Previously, the AI speakers were mostly used to ease the loneliness of the elderly by chatting or by turning on music. They also immediately alerted relevant institutions if the people ask for help verbally.
