Director Kim Bo-ra’s acclaimed debut feature film “House of Hummingbird” won the Cinema Extraordinaire award at the 20th Bergen International Film Festival, Norway’s biggest film event, according to film distribution company At9 Film on Tuesday.
The award, given to international fiction films, was given to two films this year: “House of Hummingbird” and Guatemalan film “La Llorona” by director Jayro Bustamante.
“The film’s story is lovely and poetic,” the jury of the festival remarked. “It shows how extraordinary it is to have someone who holds you dearly in their hearts.”
The award is the film’s 27th international prize this year. The story revolves around 14-year-old Eun-hee as she hovers around the world like a hummingbird, trying her best to be loved by someone.
