Genesis appoints Mark Del Rosso as CEO of U.S. branch

The Genesis global headquarters appointed Mark Del Rosso as chief executive officer of Genesis Motors North America, Hyundai Motor said Sunday.

Genesis is a luxury brand established by Hyundai Motor.

Del Rosso will be responsible for overseeing all Genesis operations in North America starting from Oct. 21. He will be reporting directly to Jose Munoz, president and CEO of Hyundai North America, and to the Genesis global headquarters located in Seoul.

Del Rosso built his career in the automotive industry over 25 years and has worked for luxury car brands including Lexus, Bentley and Audi, Hyundai said.

“Though Genesis is the youngest luxury automotive brand in the industry, having separated from parent Hyundai less than four years ago, it has been quickly gaining traction in the market with September year-to-date sales up 67 percent,” said Munoz. “Given Mark’s overall proven track record and extensive experience leading luxury brands, I’m thoroughly confident that Genesis Motors North America will be positioned to accelerate its growth.”
