Hanmi designs a Korean lab management system

A Hanmi Pharmaceutical affiliate announced Friday that it has successfully developed Quantumlibs to provide a better way for local drug makers to manage experiments and data on new drug development processes.
At the moment, most pharmaceutical companies rely on foreign-made solutions that lack flexibility in R&D and the quality control process for individual companies, Hanmi Healthcare said, adding that foreign systems also tend to see a drop in performance when used for the long term.
The new system from Hanmi Healthcare offers a comprehensive solution that helps users monitor administrative processes, quality tests on materials, calibration of lab equipment, inventory, stability and the lab environment.
Hanmi Healthcare claims that its new solution is faster at processing data compared to those from foreign companies and is more affordable to set up. The company is already using the system at its plant in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi.
Quantumlibs is designed to be audit-friendly and easily connected with other systems like enterprise resource planning, manufacturing execution systems and warehouse management systems.
“Quantumlibs is an exclusive solution made from our employees’ concentrated research and analysis that will help the local biopharmaceutical industry increase its competitiveness,” said Hanmi Healthcare CEO Lim Jong-hoon in a statement.
“We will work to be a leading solution in the health care sector by exporting it to fast-growing countries like China and Vietnam.”
Hanmi Healthcare said it has already earned brand approval for the new system in Korea and is working to register the brand in other Asian countries. The company is looking to sell the system to pharmaceutical companies and health care-specialized firms that demand efficient data management in the work they do.
As Hanmi Pharmaceutical’s affiliate is specializing in information technology services for the biopharmaceutical and health care industries, the company is hoping to launch improved customer relationship management software next year.
