Senior officials at CJ ENM have been taken in for questioning by police as part of ongoing investigations into cable channel Mnet’s “Produce X 101” vote rigging scandal, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on Tuesday.
“There are over 10 people including ‘Produce X 101’ producers and entertainment agency officials who have been questioned so far,” police revealed Tuesday during a press briefing.
Police added that “more investigations are necessary to confirm whether they can be charged.”
Last week, the police arrested star Mnet producers Kim Yong-bum and Ahn Joon-young for fabricating the voting results of the “Produce 101” series and manipulating which contestants were able to debut as part of the show’s project bands. Police are set to hand Kim and Ahn over to prosecutors when their arrest warrant expires on Thursday.
