Ediya Coffee has become the first coffee franchise in Korea to operate more than 3,000 stores, the company said Wednesday.
The achievement comes 18 years after the franchise opened its first store in front of Pai Chai University in Daejeon. By the end of this year, Ediya will have 3,038 stores in the country, it said.
In line with its expanding size, the company is currently constructing a 133.2-acre factory in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi, which it plans to fill with the latest coffee-making equipment. The facility is due to be completed in April. The company also recently invested in a logistics center in Icheon, Gyeonggi.
