KAI signs deal with Boeing for tank killer components

Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) signed a 330 billion won ($296 million) deal with Boeing to supply wing parts for the A-10 tank killer, KAI said in a statement on Tuesday.

The A-10 Thunderbolt is a dedicated close-air support aircraft for the U.S. Air Force.

KAI will supply 147 billion won worth of outer wing panels and 186.1 billion won worth of center wing panels through 2027.

“We have come to be able to expand the supply based on client trust and the global recognition of our manufacturing technology and quality,” said a spokesperson for KAI in a statement. “We will continuously invest efforts to get new orders.”

KAI supplied A-10 outer wing panels from 2007 through 2018.
