HSBC Korea names new co-CEOs for securities unit

HSBC Korea announced Wednesday that Lee Jong-jin and Rhee Sang-ho were named co-CEOs of its securities unit.

According to HSBC Korea, Lee joined HSBC in Hong Kong in 2009 after working at Dresdner Bank and joined HSBC Korea the following year. He has led the bank’s fixed income sales as well as sales coverage to cash equity products.

Rhee joined HSBC in 2010 from JP Morgan, where he worked in New York and Hong Kong. Since joining HSBC, Rhee has been leading the bank’s debt capital market team.

HSBC said the appointing of the new CEOs will allow HSBC to “draw deep expertise and experience from across sales and trading, capital market and investment banking.”
