AIA appoints Peter Chung the new chief in Korea
AIA Korea, the local arm of the U.S. insurer, appointed Peter Chung, currently regional business development director at AIA Group, to head the unit on Friday.His term will start January, replacing the incumbent CEO Cha Tae-jin.
AIA Korea said that Chung has a deep understanding of local insurance market with his experience working as the chief strategy and marketing officer of the Korean branch from April 2016 to November 2017.
During that stint, Chung is credited with bringing AIA’s Vitality program, an insurance that rewards healthy lifestyles, to the Korean market.
Chung received his MBA from Western University in London, Canada.
He graduated from the University of Toronto with a bachelor of commerce.
Chung is a certified public accountant and a chartered accountant.
