Twins sign free agent pitcher Jin Hae-soo for 1.4 billion won

The LG Twins signed free agent pitcher Jin Hae-soo on Thursday.

The Twins said Jin has agreed to a three-year contract, two years with an option of another year, at 1.4 billion won ($1.2 million) - which includes 300 million won in signing bonus and 1.1 billion won in guaranteed salary and incentives combined.

“I’ll prepare well for next season and play well,” Jin said.

Jin made his KBO debut with the Kia Tigers in 2006 and played five seasons with the club. After three seasons with the SK Wyverns, Jin finally joined the Twins in 2015. During the 2017 season, Jin led the league in holds at 24. This season, Jin once again played a crucial role as the Twins’ bullpen pitcher by picking up 20 holds, three wins and a loss with a 3.43 ERA throughout 72 games.

“Jin Hae-soo is a core of our team’s bullpen,” said the Twins general manager Cha Myung-suk. “I expect him to continue to balance [the bullpen] by leading the young pitchers.”
