Kim Seol-hyun gives 50 million won

Girl group AOA member Kim Seol-hyun donated another 50 million won ($43,000) to build a shelter for minors on her birthday, Jan. 3, her agency FNC Entertainment reported on Friday.

It has been less than a month since Kim donated 50 million won to Samsung Medical Center in southern Seoul to help out terminally ill children.

Kim has consistently contributed to various nonprofit organizations over the years, including a 100 million won donation to the Community Chest of Korea in 2018 to help out low-income youth, orphanages and day care centers. With that donation, she became a member of the Honor Society of the Community Chest of Korea, which is for those who have donated more than 100 million won to the organization.

Kim is actively pursuing a career as both a singer and actor. After AOA successfully wrapped up Mnet’s girl group competition program “Queendom,” they released their sixth EP “New Moon” on Nov. 26. Kim also appeared as one of the main leads in the JTBC drama series “My Country: The New Age,” which ended in November.
