Quintet of rat signs look forward to the new year: These performers did so well in 2019 they can only worry about luck this year

The celebrities included comedian Yoon Jung-soo, actress So E-hyun, singer Min Kyung-hoon and rising starlets Kim Hye-yoon and Jo Byeong-gyu.
Yoon started in entertainment as a comedian in 1992 and has remained active on talk shows and radio shows in recent years.
Currently, the 48-year-old is one of the hosts of “TV Loaded with Love,” in which celebrities search for long-lost friends or neighbors.
Yoon also co-hosts the radio show “Mister Radio” for two hours everyday.
When asked about his wishes for the new year, Yoon said he hopes to do things he never tried before.
“I know I can’t stay young forever,” Yoon said. “But I want to live the new year to the fullest. I want to put a priority on my life rather than my work. One of the things that I’d like to do this year is revisit all the countries I’ve ever visited. I’ve been to so many wonderful places, and I couldn’t afford to fully enjoy the places back then because of work.
“Sometimes I think I won’t be able to go on trips when I’m much older than now. They don’t have to be deluxe trips,” Yoon added.
He also hinted at starting some new projects.
“I’m thinking about launching my own YouTube channel. I know it won’t be easy, but I’m thirsty for new things. I want to make [a show] that can intrigue viewers and satisfy their curiosity. I want to fill my new year in that way.”
Actress So had a busy year last year.
The actress stayed away from the camera for a while after giving birth to her children. But her appearance on the reality TV show “Same Bed, Different Dreams: You Are My Destiny” brought a great deal of changes.
On the show, in which celebrity couples are followed around by cameras, So made an appearance with her actor husband In Gyo-jin. The couple were popular for their down-to-earth approach to life.
Last March, she landed a new job as host of the radio show “On the Way Home, It’s So E-hyun.” She was recently awarded for her skillful hosting of the show at the SBS Entertainment Awards in December.
“I’m feeling lucky this year maybe because I was born in the Year of the Rat,” said the actor.
“I hope I can do more work in TV shows and drama series this year.”
Singer Min gained a firm footing in entertainment circles last year not only as a singer but as a guest on TV shows who can give a good laugh to viewers.
The singer began appearing on “Knowing Bros” in 2015. He joined “Problem Child in House” in 2018 and helped make the quiz show a success.
One thing on the singer’s to-do list for the new year is learning English.
“I have this urge to go camping overseas, so I want to learn English this year,” said Min.
“I didn’t have enough time to work on music last year, but I will definitely release an album this year.”
Rookie actor Kim is ready to take on the new year after she hauled in many awards last year.
Kim soared to stardom by playing a teenage girl in the hit drama series “SKY Castle” early last year. Eight months later, Kim landed the lead role in the new drama series “Extraordinary You” and proved that she was no flash in the pan. Numerous endorsements and awards ensued.
The 24-year-old actor was named Rookie of the Year at the Baeksang Arts Awards in May for “SKY Castle,” while “Extraordinary You” earned her the Rookie of the Year and Excellence Awards at the MBC Drama Awards in December.
“I’m quite curious what the new year will offer me. I feel so grateful for the love and support I got last year. I want to return the love I received in the new year.”
Actor Jo also raised his profile with the drama series “SKY Castle.” He is appearing in “Hot Stove League” on SBS.
Last year, the actor appeared in reality TV shows such as “I Live Alone” and “Naturally” and showed some of his guy-next-door charm.
“I’m shooting a drama series, so I can’t really feel the new year has started. I’m so thankful that I could start last year with ‘SKY Castle’ and wrap up the year with ‘Hot Stove League.’
“I still don’t know which decision is right for me, but I will trust myself and not be afraid of making decisions this year.”

'경자년 쥐띠 활약 예고' 윤정수→김혜윤이 바라는 새해소망
"새해 복 많이 받으세요."
경자년 새해가 밝았다. 12년 만에 다시금 돌아온 쥐띠 해에 쥐띠 스타들이 2020년 활약을 예고하고 있다. 새해 첫날부터 의지를 다잡으며 본업에서나 본업 외적으로나 기대치를 높였다. 1972년생 맏형 윤정수부터 1984년생 소이현, 민경훈 그리고 1996년생 막내 김혜윤, 조병규까지 다섯 스타들의 새해 소감과 각오, 소망에 대해 들어봤다.
개그맨 윤정수는 KBS 1TV 'TV는 사랑을 싣고' MC와 KBS 쿨FM '윤정수 남창희의 미스터 라디오' DJ로 활약 중이다. 올해도 지난해에 이어 이 프로그램들에 기여하는 것은 물론 다른 예능 프로그램, 다른 도전을 꿈꾸고 있다.
윤정수는 "적지 않은 나이라서 한해 한해를 좀 더 알차게 살아야 한다는 생각이 든다. 일이 아닌 나의 삶에 포커싱을 맞춘 것들을 하면 좋겠다. 그래서 올해는 해외여행을 빙자한 촬영도 좋지만 내가 갔던 나라들을 다시금 가보고 싶다. 너무 좋은 곳들이 많았는데 일한 기억만 스쳐 지나가서 일이 아닌 기억으로 채우고 싶다. 나이가 좀 더 들면 다니기가 힘들 수도 있겠다는 생각이 든다. 아직은 팔팔하니 괜찮지 않겠나. 초호화 여행을 꿈꾸는 것은 아니다. 최소한의 경비는 가지고 떠나고 싶다. 사실 일적인 것 외에 그렇게 크게 관심이 없다. 여행을 촬영이 아닌 것으로 가는 것만으로도 내겐 대단한 결심이다"라고 말했다.
도전 의지를 불태웠다. "그간 해보지 않았던 방송을 만들어보고 싶다. 유튜브에 대한 생각도 있는데 유튜브 자체가 쉽지 않고 다른 방송에 지장이 있을까 하는 염려와 걱정이 있어 고민 중이나 새로운 것에 대한 욕심은 있다. 내가 궁금해야 다른 사람도 궁금증을 가지고 보면서 궁금한 부분에 대해 해소할 수 있으니 새로운 것을 알아가는 신기한 프로그램을 하고 싶다. 예를 들어 여행이라면 가본 곳에서 안 해본 것을 해봐야 새로운 것이 될 것 같다. 그렇게 새해를 채워가고 싶다"고 밝혔다.
배우 소이현은 지난해 SBS '동상이몽2-너는 내운명'에서 남편 인교진과 일상을 공개해 사랑받았다. 도시적인 외모와 반전되는 소탈한 매력이 호감 지수를 높였다. 인간적인 매력이 돋보였다. SBS 러브FM '집으로 가는 길 소이현입니다'도 진행 중이다. 지난해 연말 시상식에서 라디오 DJ상을 수상했다.
이와 관련, 소이현은 "활기찬 새해 맞으셨길 바란다"고 운을 떼면서 "2020년이 쥐띠 해더라. 내가 쥐띠라서 그런지 올해는 좋은 일이 더 많이 생길 것 같은 기분이 든다. 라디오, 예능은 물론 작품으로도 자주 인사드릴 수 있도록 열심히 노력하겠다. 경자년 새해에는 더 많이 행복하시고, 건강하시길 바란다"고 인사했다.
동갑내기 가수 민경훈은 제대로 예능 대세 반열에 올랐다. JTBC '아는 형님'을 통해 예능감을 터뜨리더니 KBS 2TV '옥탑방의 문제아들'도 안정적으로 안착하는데 높은 공을 세웠다. 음악 작업도 쉬지 않고 있고 개인적으로는 '캠핑'의 매력에 푹 빠졌다. 건전한 취미 생활로 일상의 활력을 북돋고 있다.
새해엔 '영어공부'라는 새로운 목표를 세웠다. 민경훈은 "영어공부를 시작할 것이다. 해외로 캠핑을 떠나보고 싶은 소망이 생겼다. 그리고 한 해 동안 음악 활동을 많이 못했는데 새해에는 작업도 꾸준히 해서 앨범도 발매하려고 한다"면서 "모두 행복하고 건강하고 많이 웃는 2020년 되길 바란다"고 응원했다.
쥐띠 막내 라인 역시 새해를 맞는 자세가 남달랐다. 배우 김혜윤은 올해 JTBC 'SKY 캐슬'과 MBC '어쩌다 발견한 하루'를 통해 대중의 확실한 눈도장은 물론 연기력까지 인정받았다. 각종 광고 러브콜과 상복이 이어졌다. 제55회 백상예술대상 TV 부문 여자 신인상을 시작으로 MBC 연기대상 여자 신인상과 수목극 우수상까지 2019년을 꽃길로 장식했다.
김혜윤은 "새해가 기대되면서 설렘이 느껴지기도 하고 한편으론 두렵기도 한데 2020년에는 또 어떤 김혜윤이 될지 궁금하다. 너무 감사한 지난 한 해를 보냈는데 좋은 연기, 좋은 작품으로 꼭 다시 찾아뵙고 싶다. 2019년 한 해 동안 너무 많은 사랑을 받아서 2020년에는 보답할 수 있는 한 해를 보내고 싶다"는 진심을 내비쳤다.
'SKY 캐슬'에서 김혜윤과 함께 호흡을 맞췄고 현재는 SBS 금토극 '스토브리그'에서 활약 중인 조병규. 그 역시 쥐띠 해를 맞아 기분 좋은 설렘을 가지고 한 해 더욱 발전된 모습을 보여주겠다고 의지를 다졌다. 지난해 MBC '나 혼자 산다'와 MBN '자연스럽게'에서 20대 남자의 소탈한 일상 그 자체를 보여주며 관심을 받았던 터. 하지만 연기를 할 땐 눈빛부터 180도 달라지며 진지한 모습을 발산 중이다.
조병규는 "새해가 되면 항상 기분 좋은 설렘과 걱정이 따라오는 것 같다. 아직은 '스토브리그'라는 드라마가 방영 중이라 긴장의 끈을 놓지 않고 촬영하느라, 새해가 온 게 몸소 실감이 나진 않지만 무의식적으로 새로운 시작이라는 게 슬슬 체감이 되는 것 같다. 좋은 모습 보여드리기 위해 노력하겠다"면서 "2019년을 'SKY 캐슬'로 시작해 '스토브리그'로 마무리할 수 있어 너무 감사했다. 그래서 더욱 2020년 배우 조병규로서의 한 해가 부담되고 좀 더 겸손하게 나아가야겠다는 다짐을 하고 있다. 매 순간 결정이 아직은 두렵고 어렵고 잘 모르겠지만 스스로를 믿고, 선택에 있어서는 대담하게 나아가는 모습을 보여드리겠다"고 말했다.
