Sechskies to make return Jan. 28

Veteran boy band Sechskies will make a comeback as a four-member band on Jan. 28, its agency YG Entertainment said on Tuesday.

The agency uploaded a poster through its official website on Tuesday morning, signed with the word “comeback” and the date.

The group’s new music comes two years and four months after their long-awaited comeback in 2017, a year after they were featured on the MBC variety show “Infinite Challenge.”

Sechskies made its debut in 1997 as a six-member band, and were part of what is known as the first generation of K-pop boy bands.

It officially disbanded in 2000, but the group came back together thanks to the popular MBC show. All six members performed together for “Infinite Challenge,” but member Go Ji-yong did not join the group for later promotions.

Member Kang Sung-hoon quit the group in 2019, after he and his fan club staff were accused of embezzling fan-donated money.
