Twice reports stalker to local police

Girl group Twice’s agency JYP Entertainment reported a man who is stalking member Nayeon to the police on Wednesday, as well as requested a restraining order from the court on Tuesday.

“We have reported the foreign man for interference of business [Article 314 of the Criminal Act] to the Gangnam Police Precinct,” the agency said.

On Jan. 1, a man got on the same airplane as the group and tried to make direct contact with member Nayeon inside the airplane. The man is not Korean.

No harm was done thanks to immediate measures, according to the agency.

“We have repeatedly warned the stalker not to come close to Nayeon, under the supervision of police,” the agency said.

“We will be taking the strongest measures possible to make sure the artists are safe.”

JYP Entertainment will also be taking legal measures against those who are suspected to have leaked the group’s flight schedule to fans.

“We are aware that our artists’ flight information is being sold illegally,” the agency said.

“We ask again for people who repeatedly cause safety issues inside the airport to abide by the rules.”

Last month, leader Jihyo fell down and was injured by fans taking pictures while inside an airport.

The agency warned that it would take legal measures should the incident occur again.
