Coupang makes 2 appointments

Coupang made new appointments Thursday as it works its way out of the red and toward a public offering.

It named Park Dae-jun as the representative director of new business and H. L. Rogers as the senior vice president of administration.

Coupang hopes the appointments will help the company in terms of simplifying the decision-making process in new business development and improve service.

“Coupang strives to find new areas to make our customers’ lives exponentially better,” said Park. “I will work to further enhance customer experience at Coupang, which grew rapidly over the last eight years, by leveraging my past experience and expertise.”

Park graduated Hongik University and worked at LG Electronics and Naver before working for Coupang.

Rogers studied at Brigham Young University. He worked for Sidley Austin and Millicom, a communications company, before joining Coupang.

“I am excited to join such a strong and vibrant company,” said Rogers. “Coupang is leading the way in a shopping revolution with speed and convenience. I look forward to helping Coupang continue to build the best team in the market to meet our customers’ needs.”
